Former CRH CEO, Albert Manifold, Appointed Operating Advisor to CD&R Funds

July 21, 2025

CD&R (or the “Firm”) today announced that Albert Manifold, the former chief executive of CRH (NYSE: CRH and LSE: CRH), has become an operating advisor to CD&R funds. In his role, Albert will work actively with the Firm’s U.S. and European Industrials teams on sourcing and evaluating new transactions, as well as providing strategic insights related to CD&R portfolio company matters.

In his 26-year career at CRH, Albert served in a number of senior positions, including chief executive officer from 2014 until December 2024. He is recognized for building CRH into one of the leading providers of building materials solutions in North America and Europe, growing the company from a traditional seller of cement and other base materials into full-scale construction services. During Albert’s 11 years as CEO, CRH’s share price surged 400 percent on the London Stock Exchange, where it has had a continuous listing. Over the same period, the company’s market capitalization grew from $19 billion to $50 billion.

Albert’s leadership tenure was marked by numerous innovations. He led CRH’s acquisition of assets globally from Lafarge and Holcim during their 2015 merger, the purchase of U.S.-based Ash Grove Cement Company in 2018, the divestment of CRH’s various businesses in emerging markets and the move of the company’s primary listing to the New York Stock Exchange in 2023.

“Albert is an outstanding leader known for successfully implementing initiatives that deliver top-line growth and enhance operating efficiency. We believe our portfolio companies will benefit from his experience building a leading global diversified building products business,” said CD&R CEO Nate Sleeper. “We admire Albert’s clear vision and leadership and are thrilled to have him join us.”

“I am pleased to collaborate with a firm that consistently invests in and builds valuable businesses,” Albert Manifold commented. “Having worked with CD&R before on the strategic combination of Beacon Roofing Supply and Allied Building Products, two highly respected industry players, I have witnessed the Firm’s deep operational expertise at work and a team committed to excellent management, creativity and problem-solving.”

Prior to CRH, Albert served as chief operating officer of Allen McGuire & Partners, a private equity firm based in Dublin, Ireland. He is a non-executive director on the boards of LyondellBasell and Mercury.

Albert holds an M.B.A. and an M.B.S. in Strategic International Marketing from Dublin City University. He is a qualified accountant.
